every day when i come in to work in the morning, my desk is littered with the “leavings” of self-involved people from the night before. i work in the office of a restaurant, booking parties and dealing with tourist groups; at night the waiters come upstairs to count out their money and figure out their tips. i grew so sick of the mess that i finally posted this note on my computer last...

i think it must be really hard to be a zombie.
everybody has a gun, and it’s difficult to get close to people without incurring some damage. and you have to be close to bite people, really close. by the time you’re in biting range, you’re head’s been blasted off. i guess if you’re one of those new-age fast zombies with the ability to zig-zag, you might have a chance....

Subway rant coupled with the notion of a...
often when i’m riding the subway i can hear the noisy music of all the inconsiderate riders sharing the train with me. at times, the music is so loud that i am able to make out chord changes and, if they’re especially obnoxious, lyrics.
my only satisfaction comes when i actually hear the music they are listening to and realize that they deserve to go deaf.
